PRINT OPERATOR WANTED
Our company is seeking a Print Operator in our Print Shop. The ideal candidate is customer service oriented, highly organized, has excellent communication skills and is able to work in a fast paced environment. Responsibilities include preparing material for Digital output and making adjustments to final print productions where necessary. Multitasking and detail-oriented skills are essential, as is ensuring that quality standards and deadlines are met or exceeded.
The Print Operator will report to the Print Shop Manager and adhere to tasks given for major assignments. In addition, must be comfortable communicating well with others and be able to work in a team setting with other Print Operators and technicians.
Requirements:
• 3-5 years of operating experience in a Print Shop
• Full understanding of printing process and proven knowledge of digital presses, Xerox 8000 Colour press, CANON large format digital printer, Riso 2 colour Digital press and finishing equipment (Polar Cutter, cerlox machine, DPM plate maker)
• Knowledge of pre-press process including imposition.
• Basic knowledge of the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.)
• Computer proficiency and knowledge of digital printing (digital plate making)
• Mechanical, technical and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to lift heavy material and stand for extended periods of time
• Willingness to work overtime
• Interest in public affairs, politics
Education: High school education. Post secondary training in printing/publishing is a plus.
