Our keynote speaker for the Fifth Annual Event

Peter Robinson

PETER ROBINSON, CEO of Vancouver-based David Suzuki Foundation, has a diverse background spanning four decades in business, government and the not-for-profit sectors to the Foundation. Beginning his career as a park ranger in B.C., where he was twice decorated for bravery by the Governor General of Canada, Robinson worked at B.C. Housing, a provincial crown corporation, eventually becoming its CEO. Before joining the David Suzuki Foundation in January 2008, he was the CEO of Mountain Equipment Co-op, the country’s largest outdoor equipment retailer. A long-time humanitarian volunteer, Robinson has monitored prison conditions with the International Red Cross in Rwanda in 1998 and led a team for seven years that monitored detained asylum seekers in B.C. He is also currently the Chair and Chancellor of B.C.-based Royal Roads University. Robinson holds a Master of Arts in Conflict Analysis and Management, a Bachelor of Arts in Geography, and diplomas in Community Economic Development and Fish & Wildlife Management.

Eglinton Grand Banquet Hall

The Fifth Annual Environmental Printing Awards was held at the Eglinton Grand Banquet Hall on April 8, 2010. Formerly The Eglinton Theatre, this historic landmark has been restored to its original 1936 grandeur. It is located at 400 Eglinton Avenue West in Toronto.
