Transcontinental Inc. CEO, François Olivier, moved to sell the company's Miami Valley plant, based in Fairborn, which specializes in insert printing for local retailers, to a company controlled by Ralph Pontillo. According to Transcontinental, the transaction secures the future of the plant staying in Fairborn.
"Following a review of our business objectives, we have decided to sell Transcontinental Miami Valley," said Norrie Meth, senior VP, Retail Group, Transcontinental Printing. "Given the more than 20 years of an exceptional relationship, I want to thank all of the employees of Transcontinental Miami Valley for their support and commitment and I wish management all the best moving forward."
Ralph Pontillo, general manager of the plant and new owner, added: “This new start is a unique opportunity to keep serving our customers while preserving jobs and making a vital contribution to the local economy. Thanks to our specialized knowledge of local advertisers and retailers, we are in an excellent position to continue to contribute to the rich history of the Miami Valley printing plant.”
The Miami Valley plant was acquired by Transcontinental in 1986. The plant specializes in retail insert printing, such as grocery flyers, and commercial printing.
