The Printing Industries of America has named its picks for printing technologies of the year, which range from software to press consumables and printing systems.
Six technologies were selected for this year's award:
ZAC Automated Controller Technology Module, Fujifilm North America, Graphic Systems Division Plate processing technology which minimizes chemistry used
HIFLEX Webshop, HIFLEX A complete web-to-print MIS system built on an open source content management system
KODAK DIGICAP NX Screening, Eastman Kodak Company A screening technology that applies a user definable
texture pattern to the surface of a flexographic printing plate. KODAK PROSPER S10 Imprinting System, Eastman Kodak Company A variable data imprinting solution for high volume direct mail applications producing at 1,000 feet-per-minute
Prinect Inspection Control, Heidelberg USA Seamless inline sheet inspection system for Heidelberg Speedmaster presses
SUPER BLUE 3, Printing Research, Inc. A wash-free, maintnence-free transfer cylinder blanket
There technologies will be presented with an award at the 2010 Printing Industries of America Premier Print Awards and InterTech Technology Awards Gala on October 3 in Chicago.
