$75,000 Awarded to 57 Printing Students |

 The Canadian Printing Industries Scholarship Trust Fund (CPISTF) has provided $75,000 in scholarship funding to 57 Canadian students, involved with post-secondary studies in graphic communications, for the current school year.
A total of $28,750 was awarded to 20 new students enrolled in the first year of an approved course of study. The remaining amount of $46,250 was provided to 37 students who are already enrolled in the CPISTF program.
Each of the annual primary scholarships is worth $1,250, while the Warren Wilkins Prestige Scholarship, awarded to students of exceptionally high standing, holds a value of $5,000.
Tracy Laranjo of Oakville, Ontario, received this year’s Warren Wilkins scholarship. Laranjo will be attending Ryerson University’s School of Graphic Communications Management, in Toronto, this September.
“Every year the Board of Trustees is challenged to select the best and brightest as recipients of our scholarships and this year was no exception. We are pleased to be able to support 57 students in their pursuit of a career in the graphic communications industry,” said Don Gain, Chairman of CPISTF.
Initiated in 1971, the CPISTF has since supplied over a $1 million to students pursuing careers in Canada’s graphic communications industry. In addition to Gain of Harmony Printing, current members of the CPISTF board include: Warren Wilkins (Past Chairman); Wayne Burroughs (Treasurer); Richard Armstrong, Heidelberg Canada; Jeff Taylor, Hemlock Printers; Michael Hill; Mary Black, Mary Black Recruiting; Bruce Bond; Bob Cockerill, Schawk Canada; Tom Blockberger; Sean Murray, Advocate Printing and Publishing Co.; and Willy Wilkins.
