The third annual Environmental Printing Awards was presented on February 27, 2008 at the Palais Royale ballroom in downtown Toronto. The event featured a keynote speech by renowned politician and humanitarian Stephen Lewis. Click here to view photos from the event.
Stephen Lewis
The former UN Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa, Stephen Lewis is Chair of the Board of the Stephen Lewis Foundation and is co-Director
of AIDS-Free World, a new international AIDS advocacy organization.
Mr. Lewis’ work with the United Nations spans more than two decades, first serving as Canadian Ambassador to the UN between 1984 and
1988 then becoming the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa from June 2001 until the end of 2006.
Mr. Lewis was appointed a Companion of the Order of Canada, Canada’s highest honour for lifetime achievement, in 2003. The same
year, Maclean’s magazine honoured Mr. Lewis as their inaugural
“Canadian of the Year.” In April 2005, TIME magazine listed
Stephen Lewis as one of the ‘100 most influential people in the world’.
Frank Ferragine
The weather specialist for Breakfast Television and the gardening specialist for CityNews, Frank Ferragine is the host of the Environmental Printing Awards. His early television career included production and host duties for gardening programs on CH and A-Channel, for which station he also worked as its weekend weather specialist and general reporter. He has reported full-time for CityTV since 2005. Ferragine has also been heavily involved in promoting horticultural industry in Ontario and sits on the Board of Directors for Toronto's Flower and Garden Trade Show, Canada Blooms. |
