Third-generation printer Robert Gauvin, described as a pioneer craftsmen who led one of Quebec’s historic family printing businesses since 1984, passed away on September 20 after a long illness. Founded in 1892, Gauvin Press is described as the first commercial printing shop in Hull, Quebec, where Robert Gauvin would eventually introduce lithographic printing before transforming the company toward its modern-day position. The company continues today in what is now called Gatineau as a book printing operation under the management of fourth-generation printer André Gauvin.
