Agfa and xpedx End Business Relationship

November 30, 2010  By

Two of the industry’s largest technology suppliers announced a joint decision yesterday as Agfa Graphics and xpedx plan
to end their long-standing distribution relationship on December 2,
2010. The move comes a few months after Agfa finalized its purchase of
Pitman company, which is a large U.S. technology distributor, with some
500 employees and 16 locations.

“The
graphic communications industry is in transition, and we acknowledge
that new strategic partnerships are the result of the evolving needs of
the marketplace,” stated Peter Wilkens, President of Agfa Graphics.
“Thanks to our long-standing business relationship, Agfa and xpedx have
agreed to a transition plan that will not cause any concern for our
joint customers.”

“Our customers are our highest priority and whether they decide to
explore new technologies, or go elsewhere for Agfa products, xpedx will
support their needs,” said Dennis Killion, Director of
Marketing-Graphics, xpedx.

Earlier,
within days of Agfa’s acquisition of Pitman, Kodak also announced it
would end its distributorship agreements with Pitman, which took effect
in October 2010.
