The Canadian Printing Industries Scholarship Trust Fund (CPISTF) Board of Trustees has appointed Ken Freek to the position of Executive Director, Outreach and Partner Relations, bringing with him 35 years of printing industry experience to the role, including senior positions with printing and supplier companies as well as experience with various industry organizations and associations.

The mission of the CPISTF is to attract students to the graphic communications industry by providing financial assistance to enrol and continue in a post-secondary management or technical program at an approved institution.

“We’re confident that Ken will lead CPISTF initiatives that will grow the Fund and allow us to provide financial support to more students across the country,” says Jeff Ekstein, President of Willow Printing Group and Chair of CPISTF.

“I’m excited to be working with the students, schools, printers, suppliers, associations and donors that make printing such a dynamic industry. We are creating a truly national impact by developing approved schools in all regions and by recruiting board members from across Canada,” Freek says.

In addition to Freek’s appointment announcement, CPISTF has launched a new brand identity; all print and digital communication will now feature the below Canadian Print Scholarships logo.

“We’re delighted with our new identity. It’s part of our longer-term strategy to raise the profile of the Fund within both the industry and the education community. We hope that everyone will find it easier to remember and say,” Ekstein explains.
