Aylmer Express installs 40-inch Komori

May 31, 2011  By PrintAction Staff

Brett, Karen and John Hueston of The Aylmer Express, a fourth generation family-owned printing and publishing company based in Alymer, Ontario, celebrate the purchase of a new 6-colour Komori LS640 press.

The press is installed at the company’s Barney Printing facility in Woodstock, Ontario. In March 2011, John Barney, President of Barney Printing Ltd., reached a deal with John Hueston, President of Aylmer Express Graphics Group, to amalgamate the two Ontario-based operations.

The company’s new 6-colour, 40-inch Komori, purchased through K-North Inc., is equipped an anilox coater, as well as PDC-SII closed-looped colour control, the KHS-AI self-learning inking system, fully automatic plate changers, and Komori’s Automatic Make Ready (AMR) system.

The Aylmer Express is comprised of two divisions, including the Fine Print Division and the Newspaper Division, which has published the region’s main community newspaper for the past 130 years. In total, with the addition of Barney Printing, the company operates four facilities in Southern Ontario.

While The Aylmer Express’ head office is located at the printing plant in Aylmer, the company also runs a sales office in Mississauga, Ontario, as well as print, mailing and fulfillment facilities in London and Toronto.

Barney Printing is a 77-year-old operation that primarily provides commercial printing for the London, Waterloo, Guelph and Toronto markets.
