October 26, 2010  By

Vancouver-based Best Color Press Ltd. has installed a 41-inch KBA Rapida 105 press with coater, as well as the ability to print UV and heavy board.

Best Color was founded in 1989 and today defines itself as a trade printer. The new 6-colour KBA press, which includes Logotronic and Densitronic Professional colour control, was installed in August 2010 and began full production by mid-September. The press can print on substrates of up to 48-point weight.

“The KBA Rapida 105 provides us with the ability to print on the thickest board in the industry, which no other press manufacturer could offer. Now we are the only printer in western Canada with the ability to print the thickest board jobs,” stated Sunny Chan, CEO of Best Color. “Having an inline UV capability gives us the ability to produce dazzling high-gloss UV applications as well as quickly coating and sealing the job.”

Best Color, which moved into an expanded facility back in 2007, holds several important environmental designations, including: Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification, Canadian Industry Program for Energy Conservation (CIPEC), and a CleanPrint BC Environmental Policy Certificate.
