Best Color Press adds Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106-6+L

April 1, 2019  By PrintAction Staff

Trade printer Best Color Press recently invested in a Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106-6+L press with Push to Stop and autonomous print automation to serve Canada’s growing packaging market.

Capable at producing at 18,000 sheets per hour, the press features an elevation kit for taller stacks, is able to produce both conventional print with water-based coating and UV-printed jobs with high gloss UV coatings, thanks to a complete IST UV system.

Push to Stop technology features include the Prinect PressCenter 2 operating console with Wallscreen XL interface. Data is transferred into live work as a result of the fully automated AutoPlate Pro plate changing system, the Inpress Control spectral colour measurement and automatic register system, automated wash-ups and the new Quality Assist program for autonomous progression from makeready to good sheet production, Heidelberg explains.

“Best Color is now better equipped than any shop in the western region of Canada for any type of packaging products required,” Sunny Chan, CEO, says. “It was a big leap for us, but now we are ready.”

Operating and serving the graphic arts market in Vancouver, B.C., for 30 years, Best Color has grown steadily and now employes 60 people. The new Speedmaster XL 106-6+L joins a Speedmaster XL-75-6+L press and a new Suprasetter with automatic plate loading, punching, automatic slip sheet removal as well as complete prepress and finishing departments.
