October 7, 2020  By PrintAction Staff

Canon Canada, Inc. has launched its new imagePRESS C10010VP/C9010VP digital colour presses in Canada. These two presses join the imagePRESS family of colour digital presses that have seen over 28,00 installations in North America since their introduction over a decade ago.

The imagePRESS C10010VP series features improved paper handling and registration designed to help users increase productivity, as well as introducing new accessories and print server options. Engineered to help support business expansion, the imagePRESS series is the company’s flagship, toner-based colour digital press that helps provide shorter delivery times, increase productivity and produce a variety of higher-margin work.

The new imagePRESS series features Ultrasonic Multi-Sheet Detection, an Active Registration System, Inline Spectrophotometric Sensors and Multi DAT colour consistency technology, and can produce up to 90 ppm (C9010VP) and 100 ppm (C10010VP) of one-up images on letter-sized sheets, and up to 112 ppm (C10010VP) of two-up images on tabloid-sized sheets. It also features Dual Fixing technology to help maximize production up time and maintain high image quality.

The C10010VP is equipped to support up to 150 lb. cover (400gsm) paper from any drawer, as well as optimized to run many types of synthetic media, allowing for the production of brochures, luxury business cards, signage and restaurant menus, among other deliverables. It also includes a POD Deck Lite XL and enhanced BDT VX 370-790 long sheet feeder options offer automatic duplex printing and continuous feed of banner stocks up to 30 inches to help customers create cost-effective posters, signage and marketing collateral.

The presses feature a GBC eWire to help remove the bottleneck that the manual twin loop wire binding process requires, which allows the automated creation of up to 80-sheet wire bound books with minimal operator involvement, according to Canon. “In addition, the imagePRESS C10010VP Series can support the DFD Bridge and Adapter, providing production environments with the ability to attach the Plockmatic BLM50/35 professional booklet maker option inline, while also offering corner stapling, hole punching, and stacking – all without having to decide which service to offer your customers.”

The presses can include either Canon’s PrismAsync Print Server, which boasts high-performance deadline-driven printing to bring efficiency, or the Fiery-powered imagePRESS Server B700 V2/B600 V2, which provides the processing power required for graphic intensive and complex jobs.

The two new presses will be available through Canon Business Solutions and Canon Authorized Dealers for purchase beginning in October.
