Chopra to lead Canada Post

January 25, 2011  By

Deepak Chopra, President and CEO of Pitney Bowes Canada and Latin American, is to assume leadership of Canada Post for a 5-year term beginning on February 1.

Chopra succeeds Moya Greene, who left Canada Post in July 2010 to lead the Royal Mail in the United Kingdom – the first female CEO of the organization. Greene had been in charge at Canada Post since May 2005. Her major challenge is to meet government plans to partly privatize the Royal Mail.

In his various roles with Pitney Bowes, Chopra has more than 15 years of global experience as a postal industry executive.

As President and CEO of Canada Post, Chopra will sit on the Board of Directors of Canada Post Corp., while also chairing the Strategy and Priorities Meeting, which manages the strategies and priorities for Canada Post and The Canada Post Group of Companies.
