Computer Paper Convertors Installs Rapid X1

Computer Paper Convertors Inc. of Mississauga purchased a Rapid X1 label printer from PDS, Pressdown Services Inc., which announced itself as the Canadian master distributor for the technology in August 2012.



The Rapid X1, which employs Memjet print-head technology, features a top printing speed of 60 feet per minute, while producing a 1,600 x 1,600-dpi resolution. The 5-colour roll-to-roll system has an 8.5-inch printing width and a 12-inch OD unwind and rewind capacity. It also includes an optical sensor for pre-cut and stripped labels.

Computer Paper Convertors (CPC) was founded in 1980 as a tool-and-die machine shop, experience the company eventually used to move into the manufacture of labels. Today, CPC focuses on the label applications of rolls, sheets, laser, thermal transfer and direct transfer, as well as bar-coded and laminated products, parking tickets and tags, special numbering, variable imaging and ATM rolls.
