January 26, 2021  By PrintAction Staff

The Canadian Printing Industries Association (CPIA) has announced the appointment of Gerard (Gerry) Lacombe to the newly created position of association manager.

Gerry brings over 34 years of industry experience to the role, 28 of those years with the Domtar organization. His career has seen him excel in both operational and sales management roles, most recently as Domtar’s VP of sales, Canadian Merchants.

“On behalf of the CPIA Board, we are excited have Gerry on the team as we chart the next steps for the CPIA. We have made meaningful progress in the past two years and Gerry brings significant experience and industry background that will help us take the association to the next level in 2021,” said Richard Kouwenhoven, Board Chair.

As association manager for the CPIA, Gerry’s mandate is to help the association advance on its core mission: to provide a national voice and platform for the graphic arts industry; and to serve as a connecting point for regional print associations, sector associations and print-focused post-secondary educational programs.

This year, the association manager will focus on facilitating Board and Sub-Committee Meetings, initiating collaboration projects with the Supplier and Educational communities and conducting industry stakeholder engagement on Government Affairs priorities, according to the CPIA.
