Custom Colour Imaging & Publishing of Toronto, Ontario, has installed a second HP Indigo 5500 press to increase production capacity for its professional and retail photography business. The 39-year-old company, now housed in a 30,000-square-foot plant, brought in its first HP Indigo 5500 five years ago.
“We installed our second HP Indigo 5500 Digital Press to expand our revenue stream and increase efficiency,” explained Leo Sciarrino, President, Custom Colour Imaging.
Custom Colour Imaging specializes in printing photos and products for professional photographers, including photo books, cards and calendars, gallery wraps and fine-art prints, and a range of marketing materials.
“The ink coverage is exceptional, especially with black and pastel colours. Our prints come out at the highest possible quality with uniform colour,” said Sciarrino. “We are excited that the [new press] has the capacity for white ink. We are building products now so we can utilize this differentiating factor for our clients.”
