Xerox to release new Iridesse features at Print 18

September 28, 2018  By PrintAction Staff

Xerox will introduce two new features for the Iridesse Production Press at Print 18 next week – High Definition Emulsion Aggregate (HD EA) white dry ink and extra-long sheet sizes – both of which are intended to bridge the physical and digital worlds. Launched in May 2018, the Xerox Iridesse Production Press is described as the first digital press that can print CMYK and up to two specialty colours in a single pass at 120 ppm with spot-on registration.

With the new HD EA white dry ink, Xerox says print providers can apply special spot effects to transform ordinary printed pieces into ones that offer a unique physical look and feel. It can be layered under or over CMYK – or both for double impact – on a range of media including black, transparent or metallic stocks, craft paper, and synthetics and polys.

Additionally, the press can print on extra-long sheets up to 13 x 47.24 inches and can auto-duplex extra-long sheets up to 28.5-inches long, making it possible to do a tri-fold brochure that folds to 8.5 x 11 inches. This can be useful for marketing collateral like menus, product and real estate brochures.
