Chris Travis, director of technology for Koenig & Bauer; Franco Trevisan, Emballages Mega Packaging’s lead pressman; Marco Macri, Emballages Mega Packaging’s president and CEO; and Aleks Lajtman, Koenig & Bauer’s Canadian regional sales manager.

When Emballages Mega Packaging, a family-owned mid-size folding carton manufacturer, sought a new offset press to take its production capabilities to the next level with advanced automation and cutting-edge technology, the firm’s management team signed a contract for a new generation fully loaded Koenig & Bauer Rapida 106 six-colour press hybrid UV with coater. The Montreal firm will take delivery in the fall of 2023.

“After evaluating other press manufacturers, we determined that Koenig & Bauer was best for us. They offer an extremely high degree of automation, which will allow us to be extremely flexible and efficient. We were also impressed with its strong Canadian service and more importantly for us a support network with technical staff based in Montreal,” says Marco Macri, Emballages Mega Packaging’s president and CEO. “Our initial conversations with Koenig & Bauer were really productive and we decided to put our trust in them and, after visiting the factory in Germany and seeing a demo of our press, we are even more assured of our decision that Koenig & Bauer is the right press partner for us.”

Once installed in the fall of 2023, Emballages Mega Packaging will be operating the first-generation hybrid UV press in Canada and in the folding carton market. It will also be the third new generation Rapida delivered to the Montreal region this year.
