FPA student packaging design challenge releases call for entries

August 17, 2020  By PrintAction Staff

The Flexible Packaging Association (FPA) is calling for entries for the 2021 Student Flexible Packaging Design Challenge. The deadline to enter concept outline submissions is Sept. 25, 2020.

The challenge, which is in its 17th year, has become a prestigious competition within the flexible packaging industry and helps attract young talent to the industry.

This year’s challenge is to develop a flexible package that addresses a certain issue, such as consumer convenience or food safety. The design should advance the use of flexible packaging, improve an existing design, convert a non-flexible package into a flexible package or repackage an item that is not currently available in flexible packaging.

Entrants must submit a concept outline, which will be evaluated, and when approved, students can then send in their prototype sample. For students that advance to the prototype sample round, FPA members may be available to mentor those entrants.

The student or team that develops the winning entry will receive a prize of US$1,000, while the second-place winner will receive US$500.
