RRD boosts label power with new Indigo 6900 presses

January 4, 2019  By PrintAction Staff

Two new HP Indigo 6900 digital presses have been installed in R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company’s Visalia, Calif., and Wilson, N.C., facilities to boost its digital asset capabilities for label production.

The marketing and business communications provider says it will use the new digital presses, each of which have Digicon finishing units, to transition its traditional short-run flexo work to better utilize capacity while maximizing up-time on medium to long-run assets. With the ability to print on various substrates in web form – for pressure sensitive, unsupported film, tag, and corrugated – RRD says it is taking a proactive approach to invest in the areas that give clients flexibility and the opportunity for success.
