Avanti Computer Systems expanded its footprint moving into a new office on Consumers Road in North York, Ontario. This is the fourth move in the past 10 years for the growing software developer, focused on providing print MIS solutions since it is was founded in 1984.
The recent ground-up development of its Avanti Slingshot technology is described by the company as the most open industry solutions to run multiple lines of business, handling large format, print and mail workflows. Integrated modules extend from online order entry through to production and billing.
Some of the highlights from the company’s 33-year history of providing Management Information Systems to the printing industry include:
1984 Company founded to provide an estimating tool to offset printers who struggled to accurately quote jobs
1999 Avanti introduces a Windows version of its MIS software
2004 New management team arrives at Avanti, including current leaders Patrick Bolan and Stephen McWilliam
2012 Avanti holds its 20th User Group Conference
2013 Imaging giant Ricoh makes a strategic investment in Avanti, which in the same year launches its new Slingshot MIS, built from the ground up for modern printing needs
2014 Avanti turns 30 years old as Slingshot receives its first of three Must See ‘Em Awards at Graph Expo
2015 Avanti Slingshot receives prestigious JDF certification, making it the first JDF-certified and cloud-based print MIS on the market
2016 Avanti Slingshot becomes the first print MIS to be integrated with HP’s PrintOS platform
2017 Ricoh acquires Avanti
