iSys Label of Calgary, which develops and manufacturers short- to mid-run label printers have, expanded its reach into Mexico, Central America, Colombia and Venezuela after appointing ProFlexo International Inc. as a new distributor.

“The appointment of ProFlexo International will greatly enhance our presence in the Latin American market,” said Randy Rickert, Director of iSys Label. “Their existing industry knowledge was a key factor in the decision making process and we believe that ProFlexo will be a valuable partner within our existing distribution network.”

ProFlexo International will offer iSys Label’s APEX 1290 and EDGE 850 label printers both directly and through a dealer network. These label systems are suitable for a range of applications from custom water bottle labels or stickers for a special event.

Both printers utilize a label software package developed for iSys Label’s systems. This includes Harlequin RIP software for colour management tools and a built-in Pantone Library. The system’s variable data software, iVDP allows users to combine static and dynamic content to create labels with variable text, images and barcodes. iVDP layouts can be configured to run variable portions in both horizontal and vertical dataset formats.

“Mexico, Central America, Colombia and Venezuela are markets that are rapidly adopting world-class equipment and technologies for the label and converting industries,” stated Jaime Dagnino, President at ProFlexo International Inc. “Our markets have a clear need for a cost-effective digital solution for printing of short-run labels, but also demand high print quality and colour consistency.”
