Matik to distribute Sensotec in North America

February 8, 2019  By PrintAction Staff

North American distributor Matik and Sensotec GmbH, a German manufacturer of register control systems, have signed an exclusive North American distribution agreement throughout Canada, the United States and Mexico.

Founded in 1989, Sensotec GmbH specializes in register control systems for narrow web presses, particularly for labels. Its Sensotec register control systems have been implemented in more than 1,000 presses worldwide. The Braunschweig, Germany, company estimates its register controls have saved over 500 million running metres of waste paper and 16 million kilowatt hours of electrical energy.

Sensotec register control systems, the company says, are “particularly well known for their precision, stability and longevity.” While Sensotec register control systems are included in many Gallus & Nilpeter presses in North America, they are also often installed to upgrade older presses to improve register stability and print quality on a range of substrates, the company explains. “The sophisticated systems use fiber optic microelectronic sensors that scan at each revolution and adjust registration simultaneously throughout the print run. The payback is very quick. Yet, despite the complexity of the systems, operation remains easy and intuitive,” it says.

Sensotec says it selected Matik due to its solid sales and service reputation.

“We are excited to represent Sensotec. We have a lot of experience and knowledge in the label market. Of course, this was of significant interest to Sensotec management. We have seen Sensotec register control systems at many customer sites and are familiar with them,” says Steve Leibin, Matik president. “We believe that Sensotec will continue to develop new register control systems that will deliver even greater levels of performance. We look forward to working side-by-side with them.”

Founded over 40 years ago, Matik offers a range of printing, converting and packaging equipment and operates several regional sales offices throughout Canada and the United States, with its headquarters in West Hartford, Conn.
