HP and 3M collaborate on signage templates to support social distancing

June 26, 2020  By PrintAction Staff

HP Inc. and 3M have announced a new collaboration to share large format graphics for commercial signage applications. Signage is now critical to communicate social distancing and health and safety messages as public spaces, workplaces and businesses begin to reopen amid COVID-19.

The 3M Graphics COVID-19 Related Signage library for HP is an online resource providing templates, design elements and poster artwork that communicates guidance on social distancing and wayfinding, as well as signage for public health awareness. The content can be accessed for free through HP PrintOS or HP Application Center.

The ready-to-use design elements allow designers and HP Large Format print service providers to create and produce applications such as: rollups and signage to communicate social distancing practices; floor and carpet graphics for social distancing and wayfinding that are durable, removable, cleanable and UL 410 approved for anti-slip; display custom window signs or decals; and posters for general public awareness.

“As the world attempts to reopen, society is embracing new values on sustainability, humanity, empathy and solidarity to create a better tomorrow for everybody. We have learned that we can only overcome this virus together through prevention and responsibility,” said Guayente Sanmartin, general manager, HP Large Format Graphics Business, HP Inc. “Signage plays a critical new role in this endeavor by helping people feel they can be safe and we’re providing the technology to help achieve this.”

As part of the partnership, 3M is providing free access to its collection of COVID-19-related designs. HP Application Center users can create their own graphics by selecting their desired content from different sources, altering graphics by scaling, duplicating, recolouring or adding objects and logos, and adding text.
