Ingersoll Paper Box Purchases Rapida 106 UV

Ingersoll Paper Box, a folding-carton manufacturer headquartered in Ingersoll, Ontario, has acquired a new KBA Rapida 106. Scheduled for an April 2014 installation, the 41-inch, seven-colour sheetfed press is being built for full UV production.

“We welcome 2014 as an exciting year for our company,” stated Sarah Skinner, Managing Director of Ingersoll Paper Box (IPB). “We’re eagerly anticipating the delivery of our new KBA Rapida… because it gives us added capabilities and will broaden our customer base. We cannot wait to unveil our new press capabilities to our existing customers.”


The new press, purchased through KBA North America, is to be aimed at IPB’s pharmaceutical customers, which Skinner explains as accounting for 75 percent of IPB’s work. The company’s remaining customer base comes from the food, consumer goods, and the health and medical industries. Clients will be able to see the KBA Rapida firsthand at an open house planned for early spring. 


Housed in an 80,000-square-foot manufacturing space, IPB will also use the open house to feature its new Masterwork MK420Q automatic sheet inspection machine, which was installed in the fall of 2013. The company plans to highlight advanced features being integrated on its KBA press, finalized following IPB’s 10-day trip to the KBA’s manufacturing site in Germany, including UV and in-line colour control.


“New for our company will be the in-line colour control system on the KBA press,” stated Skinner. “Our clients expect innovation and this latest technology delivers.”

Ingersoll Paper Box, a fourth-generation family-owned business, was established in 1922 by Robert Skinner. The company produces folding cartons with standard and custom designs, as well as computer-aided design (CAD), die cutting, embossing, and folding/gluing work.
