JB Deschamps Celebrates Speedmaster CX 102 Installation

August 14, 2012  By

JB Deschamps’ Quebec plant updated its production equipment to include a new Heidelberg Speedmaster CX 102-5+L as well the addition of another Polar 115 cutter. This installation follows the February 2010 CD102 install at its Montreal location.

“We like to keep the 102 platform the same in both our locations for flexibility reasons,” said company president Jean Deschamps. “However, moving up to a CX 102 allowed for faster make-readies thanks to Inpress Control, and faster Productivity with a higher production speed of 16,500 per hour.”

To determine how much productivity would be gained with the new press, JB Deschamps used Heidelberg’s Customer Consultancy Service. “I didn’t really believe the numbers put forth, but even if we approached the potential savings on time and waste, it would be worth doing,” said Deschamps. “I am happy to report that not only did we meet the numbers supplied, we passed them considerably. This press is 20% more productive than the 2009 CD 102 press in Montreal. Our operators love this machine.”
