Koenig & Bauer (US/CA) has partnered with Techkon USA to provide a closed loop colour-control solution for upgrading older Koenig & Bauer Rapida presses. The solution is available immediately.
Key benefits of the solution include automation, waste reduction, metrics capture, ISO & G7 compliance and integration with third-party reporting software.
The upgrade also provides workflow automation before the press run begins with an ink pre-setting module, and during the press run with a spectro-densitometer to scan a colour bar spanning all ink zone locations in a single scan. It automatically adjusts ink keys and displays the results for the press operator. The colour control software verifies that the press is operating correctly and enables reporting on key metrics.
“Our team is excited to expand the relationship with Koenig & Bauer to include this closed loop SpectroDrive system,” said Jim Lange, executive vice president at Techkon USA. “It builds upon the existing partnership in place for in-line measurement components and technical support services, adding new workflow automation for older Rapida presses.”
