Lowe-Martin adds Canada’s first Komori Impremia IS29

December 19, 2019  By PrintAction Staff

L to R: Lowe-Martin’s Jim Theakston, Edmund Rayne, and Paul Nadeau with Brett Rogers of Komcan.

The Lowe-Martin Group in Mississauga, Ont., has installed a high-speed, cutsheet digital inkjet Komori Impremia IS29, the first of its kind in Canada.

The IS29, purchased through Komcan Inc., is the third Komori installation in Lowe-Martin’s Mississauga facility, and joins two Komori GL640 coaters, both with HUV curing. Komcan is the sole authorized Komori distributor in Canada, representing all of Komori’s digital and offset products across the country.

“We have been looking to take the next step, when it comes to digital technology, for the past two years. Through this process, we have evaluated all available technologies in an effort to find the best fit for us and our clients,” says Marc Fortier, Lowe-Martin COO. “We selected the Komori IS 29 for two reasons. It will help us grow in both the retail POP and direct mail segments; two strategic markets for our company.

“Our long-standing relationship with Komcan and Komori made this decision even easier; we have two Komori GL640s and the team at Komcan/Komori has always been there for us.”

“We are extremely pleased to have Lowe-Martin, an existing Komori customer, be our first IS29 in Canada,” says Brett Rogers of Komcan. “We think it speaks volumes about the Komori product line, after sales support and relationship that Komcan has with all of our customers. Further, with Lowe-Martin’s broad offering, and high quality requirement, they will be able to leverage this investment to the fullest extent. We are very happy to be partnering with Lowe-Martin, yet again.”

The Lowe-Martin Group has three locations in Ontario, and recently won Gold, Most Environmentally Progressive Printing Company, at PrintAction’s 2019 Canadian Printing Awards.
