Last Wednesday Mi5 Print and Digital Communications welcomed more than 75 print technology enthusiasts from the Humber College Advertising and Graphic Design program’s Print Technology class of 2019 for a technology tour of its Mississauga facility.
The busy morning included a full walk-through of Mi5’s extensive litho, digital, large format and in-house bindery departments and a detailed look at file preparation, and prepress planning and proofing for complex projects including web printed magazines, die-cut packaging and oversize POP. The company says the print technology students were particularly impressed with the potential of Mi5’s propriety ProBrite printing system and how it completely “slays” traditional litho printing, especially on uncoated stocks.
“The day was totally energizing all round. They were excited to see real life production up close and dig into the technical details with our team — and we were all so impressed with their passion for learning and interest in our industry. We look forward to having them on the Mi5 team anytime,” EVP and GM Steve Tahk says.
