North Plains Acquires Xinet


Toronto-based North Plains, specializing in digital-asset management systems, purchased Berkeley, California-based Xinet, which also focuses on developing asset management technology. Xinet’s primary product is WebNative Suite, now on version 17.

Led by CEO and President James Christopher, North Plains in January 2012 released version 9 of its TeleScope system, including TeleScope Enterprise and TeleScope OnDemand (SaaS), with new mobile and portal interfaces.

The purchase of Xinet, according to North Plains, makes the Toronto company the largest “pure-play DAM vendor” in the industry. Xinet also runs an office in Munich, Germany.
