Poland’s MZGraf invests in Mark Andy P7E flexo press

April 28, 2020  By PrintAction Staff

In a move that improves its pressroom capabilities, Poland’s Mazovian Printing House (MZGraf) recently installed a new Performance Series P7E flexo press from Mark Andy.

With this acquisition, MZGraf has significantly increased its ability to produce multicolour, highly finished labels, a segment which is already an important part of the company’s portfolio. In this case, Mark Andy is not only a vendor of the press, but also a strategic partner in the advanced technological project (partly financed from the EU grants) concerning an introduction of specialized shrink sleeve labels to the market.

The new 17-inch Performance Series P7E press is a crucial part of this project.

“The press is a part of the whole technological project, with a very strong participation of Mark Andy as a strategic partner,” said Lukas Chruslinski, sales manager, Mark Andy Poland. “The management of MZGraf was looking for a vendor that will either offer a press responding to its expectations or help the company in starting production a new kind of shrink sleeve labels.”

When evaluating the scope of the project, Chruslinski consulted that the P7E provides the very extensive equipment needed for the requested applications, including a very important part – hot air dryer for a final printing unit. “Mark Andy is still committed to this drying technology, as it’s based on hot air blowing, not a high temperature in itself,” he said. “Curing is realized through water extraction and blowing it out of a printed substrate. It enables to recover up to 50 per cent of heat energy emitted this way, increasing eco-friendliness of the whole production process.”

MZGraf’s Performance Series P7E press, delivered and started in the first half of April 2020, is equipped in eight flexo printing units (with separate servo drives for each plate cylinder and chilled impression cylinder), VariPrint enabled, a cold foiling and laminating unit, die-cutting station with advanced waste windup, inspection system, UV curing system and previously mentioned hot air dryer for solvent inks. The press offers print speed up to 306 meters per minute, and is managed from a dedicated control centre with a touchscreen. It also offers remote diagnostics capability.

Founded in 1990 and located in Wysokie Mazowieckie – about 135 km east of Warsaw – MZGraf specializes in production of different printed products: books, commercials, cardboard packaging, and labels.
