Konica Minolta Business Solutions (Canada) Ltd. has announced the first Canadian acquisition of its flagship wide-format offering, the AccurioWide 160, by Print Panther in Oakville, Ont.
“We considered a number of wide format devices, but ultimately we chose the AccurioWide 160 because it sets us apart from our competitors,” says Christine Yardley, President and Co-founder of Print Panther. “We’re excited to be the first print shop in Canada to install the new AccurioWide 160, and we can’t wait to try out new and profitable applications using this technology.”
“From a technical perspective the AccurioWide 160 is one of the top-performing wide format devices on the market,” adds Alan Dryburgh, Operations Director and Co-founder of Print Panther. “Konica Minolta’s 1024i print heads are world-class, offering deeper ink pigments and outstanding overall print quality, and the AccurioWide’s ability to print on nearly any form of media is hugely beneficial as it allows us to grow new kinds of business. And, as an early-adopter, we feel confident knowing that we are backed by Konica Minolta’s exceptional service team.”
The AccurioWide 160 launched in Canada last December and is the first-ever Konica Minolta-branded wide-format offering. The device is equipped with Konica Minolta KM1024i printheads – with two channels of white for fast inline white printing applications – and utilizes UV ink technology that boasts more colour pigment per droplet to reduce ink consumption. As well, the press delivers “outstanding print quality, a large colour gamut and outstanding colour vibrancy” by printing up to 1440 x 720 dpi print resolutions.
The AccurioWide 160 was displayed for the first time in Canada at Graphics Canada 2019 in April.
“We’re excited to announce the first commercial installation of the AccurioWide 160 in Canada, and even more thrilled that it’s with such a well-known, award-winning, and respected print shop,” said Mike Wildbore, National Wide Format Business Director, Konica Minolta Business Solutions (Canada) Ltd.
Founded in 1997, Print Panther began as Binders Galore, manufacturing eco-friendly presentation materials. The company has grown to produce digital printing and litho printed communications, with capabilities in creative services, large format, sign and display, engineering drawings, direct mail, packaging, print finishing, personalized print, kitting and fulfilment, and more.
