Ricoh unveils Pro C7200 series with fifth colour options

July 4, 2018  By PrintAction Staff

Ricoh is announcing the availability of the Ricoh Pro C7200 series, featuring its Graphic Arts Edition and fifth colour station models (C7210X and C7210SX).

Built on the Ricoh Pro C7100X platform, the sheetfed presses print at 2400 x 4800 dpi VCSEL image quality. In-line sensors and calibration provide better front-to-back registration and colour consistency, Ricoh explains, without the need for lengthy, specialized training. The series offers 85- and 95-ppm models, each with auto-duplex capabilities. Each have the option to print on paper lengths up to 49.6 inches simplex or 27.5 inches duplex, enabling printing companies to introduce larger format colour printing to their portfolio. As well, Ricoh says the platform can print white and CMYK inks in a single pass.

Furthermore, a larger, 17-inch Smart Operation Panel allows users to browse and manage the Paper Library directly from the device, with increased flexibility to handle substrates such as synthetics, window clings and rich linens, Ricoh explains.

Invisible Red toner is the latest addition to the suite of toners available for the Ricoh five-colour presses. This specialized toner is invisible under regular circumstances, but under ultraviolet light, it shows as a clear, distinguishable red, describes the company, explaining the “invisible” toner can help add security features to a variety of applications, such as event tickets, sensitive documents and gamified signage.

The Pro C7200 series presses are Energy Star certified and carry an EPEAT Silver rating.
