Quark Software has promoted John Friske, Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Services, to the role of President and Chief Operating Officer, where he will be responsible for the continued delivery of products, service and support to the company’s global network of customers.

“We know that Quark’s success depends on the success of our clients. With that in mind, our global sales and services teams are committed to supporting customers across three lines of business to ensure the successful rollout and use of our solutions,” said Friske. “I look forward to my continued engagement with our customers who are leaders in their own industries and have helped make Quark the company we are today.”

Friske joined the company as part of Quark’s acquisition of In.vision Research Corporation in 2008; the company’s flagship product is the foundation of Quark XML Author for Microsoft Word.

“John Friske built and sold his own software companies and in his time at Quark has developed an excellent sales and services organization – all of which can’t be done without a focus on customer success,” said Chris Hickey, CEO for Quark Software. “Together we will lead Quark and our customers to continued growth and innovation.”

Prior to his role as President and COO for Quark, Friske served as SVP Global Sales and Services, Vice President, Global Professional Services and General Manager, XML Products. Before joining Quark, Friske spent two decades establishing high technology firms specializing in the development and deployment of enterprise software solutions. As President and CEO of in/sync Data Products and In.vision Research Corporation, Friske built and grew both organizations through successful sales growth, customer satisfaction, and venture capital, ultimately leading to the successful acquisitions of both organizations.
