Presstek Inc. of Greenwich, Connecticut, signed a distribution agreement with Spicers Canada Ltd., which will supply Presstek’s 34DI and 52DI presses, Vector FL52 CTP systems, and related consumables. Based in Vaughan, Ontario, Spicers operates 15 distribution centres across the Canada.
“This collaboration will bolster our presence in the region and enable printers to capitalize on Spicers’ vast expertise and experience,” said Todd Phillips, Presstek Canadian Sales Manager.
Presstek’s 4-colour DI sheetfed presses produce 300-lpi quality and stochastic screening, while, according to the company, also providing one of the lowest costs per sheet at run lengths of 500 to 20,000. The company explains its DI presses can go from digital file to sellable colour in six minutes.
The Presstek Vector FL52 with Freedom plates is described as a compact chemistry-free system for the small-format (52cm and under) printer. After imaging, Freedom plates are automatically cleaned with water in the Vector’s integrated plate washer and exit the system ready for mounting on press. The company explains these plates are suited for high-quality, short-run printing with run lengths of up to 25,000.
