Squid Ink releases mineral oil-free inks

December 11, 2018  By PrintAction Staff

Squid Ink Manufacturing, a manufacturer of inks and inkjet printing equipment, has introduced its line of Mineral Oil Free (MOF) inks that are approved for use in Xaar 128 and 502 printheads, including Squid Ink’s CoPilot and AutoPilot family of printers.

MOF inks, Squid Ink adds, aim to deliver dark, reliable print for easy-to-read package coding and increased bar code scannability. For manufacturers looking for colours, the inks are available in a variety of colours including black, red, blue and green. The inks for porous substrates boast low-maintenance performance,  maximum production uptime and print performance.

MOF fluids join Squid Ink’s line of inkjet inks that are filtered to .2 microns absolute, helping to meet OEM specifications, the company says. The mineral oil-free inks are designed as a direct replacement for petroleum-based inks for use on porous substrates, explains the company, adding that the inks feature near-zero volatile organic compounds (VOC’s), zero hazardous air pollutants, and no hazardous ingredients.
