Drytac Introduces Polar for Large-format

March 31, 2015  By PrintAction Staff

Drytac has introduced a new self-adhesive vinyl called Polar available in both permanent and removable adhesive versions for a range of applications.

Polar is an 80-micron (3.2 mil) polymeric printing vinyl that, according to Drytac, uses a high quality, grey cross-linking acrylic adhesive. The vinyl is available in both a matte and gloss finish with either the aforementioned permanent and removable adhesive.

Drytac also explains that Polar holds high opacity with a consistent printing surface and strong white point. It is compatible with most solvent, eco-solvent, UV and latex wide-format-inkjet printing systems.

The technology is also aimed at both indoor and outdoor work, such as general-purpose signage and construction barricades. The permanent adhesive version is recommended for applications requiring more than three years of use. The removable adhesive version is best suited for advertising graphics and point-of-purchase displays.

Drytac also recommends using an over-laminate with Polar, such as the Interlam Pro line of laminating films or, for specialty applications, Interlam Pro Anti-Graffiti. Polar is available in 54- and 60-inch-wide rolls.
