HP has announced the new HP Stitch S Printer series, a portfolio of digital printers designed to bring precise colour-matching, less waste and simplified management processes  to the textile industry.

The new HP Stitch S Printer series includes a portfolio of three new printers for textile printing from 64- inch to 126-inch wide – the HP Stitch S300 64-in Printer, the HP Stitch S500 64-in Printer, and the HP Stitch S1000 126-in Printer. More details on the HP Stitch S1000 will be announced at FESPA 2019.

Featuring HP Smart Color tools and a built-in spectrophotometer, the printers are said to deliver exact colour management replicable both over time and across the fleet, and thus save time and money by avoiding the waste of reprints. By coupling HP Thermal Inkjet technology with industry-standard dyes, print producers are guaranteed even greater colour durability, HP says.

The S300 Printer is suitable for easy dye sublimation printing and holds the first user-replaceable printhead, resulting in reduced down times and service costs, according to the company. The model was designed specifically for new-to-dye sublimation professionals, prototyping departments, and growing print providers.

Meanwhile the S500 Printer is described as a workhorse for production sites, designed for predictable dye sublimation colour and less media waste for production environments. With symmetrical 2xCMYK printhead configuration and Optical Media Advance Sensor, the 64-inch printer allows for saturated one-pass mode.

HP is also introducing a set of new dye sublimation papers for the new HP Stitch S Printer series, designed and tested as a system with HP dye sublimation inks and the HP Stitch S Printer series for “excellent image quality and colour consistency.”
