Walter Hartmann becomes the head of sheetfed marketing for at Koenig & Bauer’s (KBA) primary sheetfed press manufacturing plant in Radebeul, Germany.
Hartmann, age 51, takes over for Jürgen Veil, age 50, who, after 15 years in the sheetfed marketing role, sought out a new position with KBA as key account manager for packaging back in September 2013.
After completing an apprenticeship with an offset printing company, before undergoing advanced training as print technician, Hartmann held various positions in sales at Köselbuch in Kempten. He then spent 11 years as works manager, responsible for all of the technical departments (prepress, printing plant and bindery), at AZ Druck und Datentechnik. This book and commercial printing company has over 200 employees at its facilities in Berlin and Kempten, Germany.
While at AZ Druck, Hartmann helped drive one of the world’s first installations of a KBA Rapida 105, which was an eight-colour press featuring DriveTronic SPC direct drives at the plate cylinders.
