Omniscreen Installs Fujifilm Acuity

April 27, 2012  By

Omniscreen, a screen printer located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, added UV flatbed printing capabilities to its production floor with the installation of a Fujifilm Acuity Advance HS system. While the flatbed inkjet system produces 10 sheets per hour, Omniscreen also decided to integrate the roll media option for its Acuity.

“It’s only been a few weeks since we acquired the Acuity, and it has already become essential to our production,” stated David Boning, co-owner of Omniscreen. “We’ve already been able to lower our cost significantly because we no longer need to mount or laminate. Inline white is opening up new markets for full-colour prints on a variety of substrates that were previously unattainable with screen printing or with our roll-to-roll digital.”

Omniscreen is a 35-year-old, family-owned company that, beginning in 2009, began to drive a portion of its production with Websites like CanadaLawnSigns.com, CanadaStickerKing.com and CanadaBannerKing.com. Beyond more traditional applications, the company also prints magnetic decals and signs for fridge magnets, vehicle markings, and control panels for industrial and commercial applications.
