U.S.-based printing giant Quad has closed its book printing operations, according to a report in Publishers Weekly .
The development comes after Quad put its book printing business up for sale last fall following the collapse of its proposed US$1.4 billion merger with LSC Communications, the largest book printer in the U.S. The deal would have brought together two of the biggest companies that print books, magazines, and catalogs, but was called off after the U.S. Department of Justice sued to stop the merger.
Quad is headquartered in Sussex, Wisconsin.
