Southwest Bindings debuts new name

Southwest Bindings, a Toronto, Ont., company that sells print finishing equipment, binding supplies, presentation and branding material, says it is changing its name to better reflect its product offerings.

Now going by Southwest Business Products Inc., the 40-year-old company explains it completed “rigorous customer research” to determine if a name change was warranted and, if so, what name would resonate best with its target audience.

“This is an all-encompassing business brand that communicates our proud Canadian heritage and the fact that we offer multiple business products – not just document binding,” Louis Cordeiro, President and Founder of Southwest Bindings, says.

Along with a corporate name change, the company is introducing a new website – www.southwestbusiness.ca – and staff email addresses will change to: @southwestbusiness.ca. The company has announced that current email addresses and website URL will continue to redirect to its new name for some time.

“Over the past 40 years, Southwest’s business has evolved beyond binding into new service areas and paved the way for future growth,” the company explains in a statement.

Established in 1978, Southwest operates six branch offices across Canada, including its head office in Toronto, Ont.; Ottawa, Ont.; Vancouver, B.C.; Calgary, Alta.; Montreal, Que.; and Dartmouth, N.S.
