Spectrol Purchases Gallus ECS 340

January 20, 2014  By PrintAction Staff

Spectrol Inc. of Mississauga, Ontario, has installed a new Gallus ECS 340 flexographic printing press to expand its production of food and beverage, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food labeling business.

Spectrol was founded in 1984, beginning its production with a Gallus letterpress, and today is an award-winning producer of high-end pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves and roll-on-shrink-on (ROSO) labels.

In addition to a long relationship between the two companies, Ray Kapoor, President of Spectrol, stated the purchase of the Gallus ECS 340 was largely driven by features like the press’ very short web path and quick set-up, as well as the stability provided by its granite base.

“The press is running beautifully,” stated Kapoor. “I’m very pleased with its quality, its production capability, and its quietness, which is really an added bonus.”

In addition to its granite base and short web path, the Gallus ECS 340 features aluminum plate sleeves, front-loading sleeves, chilled impression cylinder and servo driven print heads, as well as multiple die mounting options and what the company describes as optional advanced register control.
