BOSS LOGO Buys Kongsberg Cutter

November 26, 2013  By PrintAction Staff

Toronto-area trade printer BOSS LOGO has installed a new Esko Kongsberg digital cutting machine as part of its efforts to expand into large format printing. The table has an automatic sheet feeder and take-up system. BOSS LOGO has also invested in the roll sheet feeder option that unwinds the roll on top of the Kongsberg table’s bed.

“We wanted to jump completely into sign and display – not just make a little splash,” says Kapil Sunak, President of BOSS LOGO. “We purchased a very large digital flatbed printer and quickly invested in the Kongsberg XP cutting table to ensure we were able to finish our jobs effectively.”

BOSS LOGO was founded in 1995 in Markham Ontario, just north of Toronto and today provides its trade clients with many printing services. Sunak says he plans to using the new Kongsberg table to cut a variety of substrates, from wood, metal and plastic to boards and Coroplast. “As runs get larger, we can produce short runs on the digital press and Kongsberg table and, ultimately, very large runs on our offset press and die-cutting equipment. We are now equipped to efficiently take on prototypes to 500-sheet short runs to really large runs on our offset press.”

The company has also invested in the icut Layout and ArtiosCAD software along with the Kongsberg. It will allow BOSS LOGO to set up optimum sheet use for ganging and have the ability to create structural designs for one-off packaging.
