ICON Digital Expands Wide Format

March 4, 2010  By

ICON Digital Productions of Richmond Hill, Ontario has recently upgraded its wide-format production with the installation of two new pieces of equipment, an Inca Onset S20 and Durst RHO 500.

The machines, which the company values at $2.3 million, will join other pieces of production equipment, including two Océ Lightjet photo printers and a HP 8300 Turbojet web-sheet printer.

According to the company’s President, Juan Lau, he says he sees the industry shifting away from solvent printing to the more cost-efficient and eco-friendly technologies such as UV. “It’s hard not to notice the number of UV products shown at trade shows these days. Both these printers impressed us with their speed, print quality and reliability over other UV products we have looked at,” he says.
