March 4, 2019  By PrintAction Staff

Herma US Inc. has introduced the Herma 500 Label Applicator, an IOT-enabled machine that leverages real-time metrics to help optimize production efficiency and consistency in a multi-factory setting.

Capable of achieving labeling speeds up to 200m/min, the Herma 500 can handle label widths between 80 to 320 mm and roll diameters from 300 to 600 mm.

Since launching North American operations in 2016, Herma says it has sold more than 4,000 of the Herma 400 Label Applicator in 2018, half of which were provided to original equipment manufacturers. The Herma 500, it explains, is a next-generation label applicator that builds upon its predecessor’s best features and integrates Industry 4.0 connectivity.

The Herma 500 offers a maximum speed 70 ft/minute higher than the H400, while a maximum speed of 650 ft/minute can be reached. The module boasts short make-ready time and offers industrial-grade Ethernet connection. A range of optional upgrades can be accessed by code activation, and the unit’s firmware is automatically upgraded via ethernet. Both left- and right-hand models are available for simplified equipment integration.
